High Street Insurance Partners (HSIP), a full-service independent insurance brokerage firm based in Traverse City, announced it has acquired Maritime Insurance International, one of the largest marine-specific agencies in the U.S. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We have a significant concentration of business in the Southeast, with over 40 agencies,” says Scott Wick, CEO of HSIP. “With the addition of Maritime Insurance International, our growing Marine specialty practice can better serve our clients in this region and nationally with all their maritime needs.”

Headquartered in Charleston, S.C., Maritime Insurance International provides boat, yacht, and commercial maritime insurance from four East Coast offices — located in Charleston; Wrightsville Beach, N.C.; Annapolis, Md.; and Mystic, Conn. — that serve lakefront and coastal communities country wide.

Alongside its personal boat and yacht insurance, it offers coverage for OUPV charters, inspected passenger vessels, rentals, bareboat charters, and commercial vessels. It also offers coverage for marine businesses including marinas, boatyards, boat dealers, yacht brokers, and more.

“We are excited to join HSIP. Our partnership with them will allow us to better serve all our current and future clients,” says Nick Mcginty, president of Maritime Insurance International.

Founded in 2018, this acquisition marks the 97th agency the company has acquired since then and was the 17th acquisition in December 2021. HSIP employs more than 1,700 people in 23 states across the U.S.
