Sheetz, a Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain, today announced the addition of five new Detroit-area stores — two in Taylor as well as locations in Macomb Township, Romulus, and Warren.
The Romulus store at 3380 Wick Road (at Vining Road) will open in late summer. Earlier this year, Sheetz announced plans to open a new location in Romulus on Middlebelt Road, just north of I-94, and in Chesterfield Township on 23 Mile Road, just east of I-94.
Established in 1952 in Altoona, Penn., Sheetz Inc. operates more than 740 store locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina. It has more than 26,000 employees.
In addition to offering fueling stations, Sheetz provides made-to-order sandwiches and salads, along with hamburgers, hotdogs, snacks, and desserts. All Sheetz convenience stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The other regional store locations that are scheduled to open include:
- 8200 Telegraph Road, Taylor, MI 48180
- 20623 Eureka Road, Taylor, MI 48180
- 45011 Garfield Road, Macomb, MI 48044
- 31925 Van Dyke Avenue, Warren, MI 48093
Sheetz states each of its store locations become part of the community by providing financial support and weekly food donations to local food banks, supporting local Special Olympics chapters with financial support as well as volunteering at events, helping families in need during the holidays, and more.
As part of Sheetz’s commitment to the Detroit community, Sheetz will donate $10,000 to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan to support the organization’s mission of creating and supporting mentoring relationships.
Sheetz also will donate $10,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan to help with the organization’s goal of creating safe spaces for local youth to learn and have fun, while providing them with the economic, cultural, and social capital needed to become career, startup, and homeowner ready.
