Pentastar Aviation, a provider of global private aviation services in Waterford Township, is expanding its Fivestar Gourmet catering operation to Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus through the acquisition of Gourmet Airfare, a longtime provider of private aviation catering at the airport.
As part of the acquisition, Fivestar Gourmet now has a full-service kitchen at Detroit Metro Airport. It complements the company’s original location at Oakland County International Airport, and strengthens the enterprise’s regional catering capabilities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Together, the two locations will serve customers at Coleman A. Young International Airport (Detroit City Airport), Oakland County International Airport, Toledo Express Airport, Willow Run Airport, Ann Arbor Municipal Airport, Capital Region International Airport in Lansing, and surrounding markets. Existing Gourmet Airfare customers will transition to the Fivestar brand.

Fivestar Gourmet supports individual business travelers and families to large corporate flights and professional sports teams, and coordinates catering logistics while accommodating dietary requirements and special requests.
The new DTW operation will integrate into Fivestar’s existing service model, giving customers access to the company’s recipe library and custom menu development capabilities.

Pentastar Aviation is owned by Edsel B. Ford II, a past board member of Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn.
