The Stubborn Brother Pizza Bar has opened at The Standard at Ann Arbor, a student housing community near the University of Michigan.
The new restaurant occupies a 5,948-square-foot retail space on the ground floor of the mixed-use building at 405 South Main St. It offers take-out and a full-service dining room.
Stubborn Brother’s menu centers on what it calls an old-world East Coast pizza model. Carrying forward a century-long hospitality legacy — widely known for Toledo’s Mancy family of restaurants — the partners expanded north following success near the University of Toledo.
Designed to accommodate everything from relaxed family meals to late-night student dining and game-day gatherings, the venue seats 180 guests across its dining floor and full-service bar, and is equipped with 19 HD TVs.
“Bringing The Stubborn Brother Pizza Bar to Ann Arbor has been an exciting opportunity, and we are looking forward to welcoming our guests, meeting our neighbors, and becoming part of the community,” says Grace Mancy, managing partner of Stubborn Brother. “From the beginning, our goal has been to create a restaurant that feels welcoming, serves great food, and gives people a reason to come back.”
The Stubborn Brother menu focuses on fresh ingredients, quality products, and food meant to “bring people together.” Alongside pizzas, the new restaurant offers a variety of appetizers, salads, desserts, and other favorites.
The selections include twice baked garlic roll, chicken wings, salads such as caprese, wedge, and antipasto, and pizzas — Rocco’s Meat Lover, Johnny’s Special, Gracie’s Veggie, Giavanna’s White, Spicy Sicilian, Rocket Pie, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and more.
There’s also several subs, stromboli, pasta, meatballs, and multiple desserts. The beverage program features beer, cocktails, and wine.
Developed by Landmark Properties in 2022, The Standard at Ann Arbor features a mix of studio to four-bedroom apartments.
