Automotive supplier Marelli, which has its North American headquarters in Southfield, and Austrian auto supplier ams OSRAM, have launched a new type of multipixel LED system that better enables headlight operation and image projection.
Called a h-Digi microLED module, the system is digital, designed to be an affordable technology, and is available for a wider range of vehicles.
Based on a matrix illumination system, h-Digi microLED manages the LEDs selectively to create flexible low-beam and high-beam light distributions, adapting to various driving situations, including town, country, highway, and bad weather.
In terms of safety, the Marelli h-Digi microLED can project warnings or driver assistance images on the road, while providing a compact design and high energy efficiency.
