Starting this week, Hungry Howie’s in Madison Heights is the first national pizza chain to offer Detroit-style pizza across the country.
Participating Hungry Howie locations nationwide now are offering the chain’s version of the thick pizza with an airy crust, crispy caramelized edges, cheese layered to the edge and sauce added as the final topping, just like the Detroit original.
The launch is said to celebrate the brand’s hometown heritage — it was founded in the Detroit suburbs in 1973.
“Detroit is in our DNA, and introducing this style on a national scale is a full-circle moment for Hungry Howie’s,” says Jeff Rinke, vice president of marketing and product development for Hungry Howie’s. “It’s more than a menu launch. It’s a tribute to our beginnings and a bold step in our flavor evolution. We can’t wait for fans everywhere to taste a slice of our hometown.”
Guests can place orders online, in the brand’s app, or in-store while supplies last.
