An 115,000-square-foot wrap of the new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, created by Rochester Hills-based i.M. Branded, has just been completed on the Renaissance Center in Detroit for the 2016 North American International Auto Show.

Jim Whitehead, president of i.M. Branded, says the wrap consists of three front images of the Malibu on the Marriott Hotel tower.

“Within those front views of the Malibu, there are two headlights and two driving lights that are actually functional and operational,” Whitehead says. “So at night when you look at the wrap, you’re looking at what would be the equivalent of a four-foot diameter headlight and 12-foot running light.”

He says the wrap includes nearly 70 high-definition LED lights, and is one of the biggest wraps in the country. He says the installation process began on Dec. 18 and was completed Tuesday. The wrap will be on display through Feb. 7.

Whitehead says i.M. Branded has also created wraps for the Detroit Zoo water tower and Chrysler’s headquarters, along with wrap elements for the Super Bowl and Comerica Park.

i.M. Branded, founded in 1996, employs 75 people. The 2016 Malibu is priced at $21,625, and gets a GM-estimated 37 miles per gallon on the highway.
