The Dodge brand of Stellantis in Auburn Hills is, for the first time, making the legendary HEMI V-8 engine standard on every 2026 Dodge Durango.
The 2026 Dodge Durango model-year lineup includes the GT, R/T, and SRT Hellcat models, equipped with the 5.7-liter, 392-cubic-inch (6.4L) or 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI V-8, respectively.
The move adds more horsepower and performance to the Durango GT and the R/T. All 2026 Dodge Durango models reportedly deliver best-in-class towing of up to 8,700 pounds.
Dealer orders for Durango GT and SRT Hellcat are open and vehicles are expected to arrive in dealerships in Q4. Orders for the Durango R/T AWD will open later this year.
“Dodge Durango is on a tear, with Q2 U.S. sales surging more than 50 percent over Q1 and topping the upper midsize SUV segment in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. APEAL Study,” says Matt McAlear, CEO of Dodge.

The 2026 Dodge Durango GT receives a performance boost with the addition of the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, delivering 65 more horsepower than the previous V-6-powered model. It starts at an MSRP of $42,495.
Shifting to HEMI V-8 power gives Durango GT customers:
- 22 percent more horsepower.
- 50 percent more torque.
- Quicker acceleration, 0-60 mph time improves by more than one second from 7.4 to 6.2 seconds
- 40 percent greater towing capacity (with R/T Tow N Go).
- A more aggressive exhaust note and driving feel.
- Fuel Saver Technology with cylinder deactivation, seamlessly alternating between four-cylinder mode for efficiency and full V-8 mode when power is demanded.
For the first time, the Dodge Durango R/T will be standard with the 392 HEMI V-8, delivering 475 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque — a 115-horsepower increase over the previous 5.7-liter HEMI-powered R/T and delivering the most horsepower available in the industry for less than $50,000.
The 392 HEMI upgrade on the R/T delivers:
- 32 percent more horsepower.
- 21 percent more torque.
- Quicker acceleration and sharper throttle response.
- A more aggressive exhaust note and driving feel.
- Track-inspired performance with everyday drivability.
The 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat returns as the most powerful gas-powered SUV ever built, according to Dodge, delivering 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine. It delivers a 0–60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds, a quarter mile in 11.5 seconds, and a top speed of 180 mph.
The 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat has a starting U.S. MSRP of $79,995.
Dodge also is offering a new Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak for 2026, unlocking more than 6 million potential customization combinations. Customers can select from six different wheel options, six available factory exterior colors, six exterior badge color choices, five seat colors with three seating configurations, five dual-stripe options, and four brake caliper colors and seat belt colors.
Jailbreak customization options are unlocked with an additional U.S. MSRP of $995; customization options chosen will include applicable U.S. MSRPs.
“The Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak gives customers the opportunity to make their muscle SUV unique, unlocking color combination ordering restrictions, from exterior colors, to stripes, badges, wheels and brake calipers, to a wide variety of interior options,” says McAlear. “We can’t wait to see what our buyers dream up on the road.”
The option menu opens with a line of six exterior color options from the factory, including new-for-2026 Green Machine, which joins Destroyer Gray, Diamond Black, Octane Red, Vapor Gray, and White Knuckle.
Exterior color customization is one way Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak owners can make their muscle SUV their own. The Jailbreak cracks open additional customized options: while all Jailbreak models feature standard 20-by-10-inch wheels, that’s where the commonality ends. Each wheel can be complimented with one of four unique Brembo brake colors (red, black, yellow and orange).
A wide variety of available wheel finishes include:
- SRT Machine Face with Dark Pockets
- SRT Satin Carbon
- SRT Lights Out
- SRT Brass Monkey
- SRT Forged Y-spoke Lights Out

Jailbreak offers the choice of a full range of exterior color customizations:

- Full vehicle dual-stripe choices include blue, Gunmetal, red, Redline Red/black and silver.
- New Gloss Black-painted hood is now available.
Freedom of choice extends to the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak’s interior as well. Seating color and configurations include:
- Black Laguna leather/Alcantara in five-passenger and seven-passenger configurations.
- Six-passenger configurations in Hammerhead Gray, sepia or Demonic Red Laguna leather, as well as an Ebony Red Nappa leather option.
- Even the seat belts are on the customization menu, with choices of black, Hammerhead Gray, red and sepia hues.
- A “Jailbreak” interior badge stamped into the carbon-fiber trim confirms the personalized configuration, providing another unique shout-out for each model.
Building on the success of the Jailbreak Custom Color program offered on the 2023 Challenger SRT Demon 170, select Dodge customers will be offered an opportunity to paint their 2026 Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak in nearly any color imaginable. A Dodge concierge will work directly with these customers to select their exclusive color.
