Detroit-based real estate developer Bedrock has unveiled The Residences at The Detroit EDITION, a collection of 96 high-rise condominiums located atop The Detroit EDITION hotel within the Hudson’s Detroit tower at 1208 Woodward Ave.
The reveal comes as pre-sales have launched for the complex, in Michigan’s second-tallest building, slated to open in 2027.
“The Residences at The Detroit EDITION delivers a one-of-a-kind residential product to Detroit in the heart of all that our great city has to offer,” says Dan Gilbert, founder and chairman of Bedrock. “From sweeping views of the skyline and Detroit River to unparalleled amenities with close proximity to the dynamic retail and restaurant scene at the ground level on Woodward Avenue, The Residences open the door to this landmark development and burgeoning downtown.”
Designed by SHoP Architects with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg, The Residences at The Detroit EDITION offer floor plans ranging from one to four bedrooms, spanning 720 to more than 4,500 square feet. Large living spaces frame the Detroit skyline with floor-to-ceiling windows and 10-foot-high ceilings, creating openness throughout the residences.
Natural finishes and materials, including monolithic stone slabs and rich woods, complement contemporary kitchens with dark bronze hardware and premium appliances by Subzero, Wolf, and Cove. Pricing for condominiums start from the $600,000s.
Complete with 14,000 square feet of private indoor and outdoor amenities, The Residences offer what officials call a best-in-class fitness and aquatic suite, a pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and steam rooms.
Residence owners will have access to a club room, a children’s playroom, co-working space, a dining and catering kitchen, indoor parking garage with valet, a multi-sports simulator, and a sound studio. Outdoor amenities include summer kitchens and lounges on a landscaped terrace.
Residents will have full access to The Detroit EDITION hotel amenities, including several culinary and beverage options, a pool, a fitness center, in-residence dining, spa services, and more than 16,000 square feet of event space.
The Residences at The Detroit EDITION are set within the tower of Hudson’s Detroit, a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use development on the site of the former J.L. Hudson Department store. Hudson’s also features:
- Class A office space, anchored by General Motors’ global headquarters.
- Pine Hall, a new cocktail bar from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group.
- The Department at Hudson’s, an event venue with 56,000 square feet of space.
- A retail collection, including ALO and Tecovas.
- Nick Gilbert Way, an activated public plaza with programming and events throughout the year.
Located on Woodward Avenue, Hudson’s is close to downtown Detroit’s food, beverage, retail, and entertainment options within the central business district. It’s close to all of Detroit’s major sport and entertainment venues, the Detroit Riverfront, museums and art galleries, and transit and mobility options.
Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, a division of Douglas Elliman, an independent real estate brokerage and a leader in the luxury condominium market, is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for The Residences at The Detroit EDITION.
“The Residences at The Detroit EDITION set a new benchmark for Detroit, and we’re honored to lead the sales and marketing for such a transformative development,” says Susan de França, president and CEO of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.
“This project exemplifies the fusion of modern architecture, elevated design, and a lifestyle offering that rivals top global markets — all in the heart of Detroit’s most exciting new destination. With Detroit, we’ve now collaborated on four EDITION projects across the country — in West Hollywood, Edgewater, Miami, and now the Midwest — each one redefining what it means to live exceptionally.”
Private appointments are now available at the 4,000-square-foot sales gallery at 1225 Woodward Ave. Rocket Mortgage will offer financing for The Residences.
