Crewe Capital, a boutique investment bank based in Salt Lake City, hired Brian Basil to lead its investment banking efforts in Michigan as managing director.

For more than 25 years, Basil has provided mergers and acquisition advisory services across a range of industries. He joins a team of investment bankers who have advised on hundreds of transactions, aggregating more than $250 billion in total value.

“I am ecstatic to be joining such a prestigious firm” says Basil. “Clients will benefit from the range of service offerings the firm provides that I have been unable to provide in the past. With buy-side, sell-side, capital raising, restructuring, valuation, real estate, and secondaries investment banking among the services offered, Crewe is one of only a few firms in the country bringing this level of expertise to the middle market.”

Basil was hired after Crewe identified a need for middle market businesses in the Great Lakes region, similar to the clients served in the mountain west region.

“Brian’s reputation and expertise are well-known in the Michigan market. Bringing him to Crewe is a big win for our firm,” says Mike Bennett, managing partner of Crewe Capital. A”s we grow nationally, we believe Michigan is a key market for us. Brian is the perfect person to lead these efforts. We could not be more excited to have him at our firm.”

Basil was named Investment “Banker of the Year” in 2019 by the Association for Corporate Growth chapter in southeast Michigan. Prior to joining Crewe, he held senior leadership positions with several other well-known middle market investment banks including Grant Thornton, Stout, and Ernst & Young.
