Sparrow — a Michigan health care organization that includes hospitals in Lansing, St. Johns, Ionia, and Carson City — has donated $30,000 to the Carson Foundation.

“This embodies Sparrow’s support of the Carson Foundation and our mission for the region we serve,” says Gary Copp, board chair of Carson Foundation. “The monetary match adds great value to the donations from our caregivers and our community members.”

Copp says the health system pledged to match up to $30,000 annually — for a maximum of five years — of money raised by the Carson Foundation after Sparrow Carson Hospital in Carson City became a fully integrated subsidiary of Sparrow last year.

The donation allows the Carson Foundation to continue to fulfill grant requests to help improve the health of the people in the mid-Michigan region, Copp says.
