Elizabeth Williams, principal of human resource solutions at Troy-based Rehmann, has been presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan Council of the Society for Human Resource Management at its annual conference Oct. 17 in Grand Rapids.

In a career spanning 25 years, Williams has held HR leadership roles encompassing the full scope of human resources management at privately held, publicly traded, and private equity-owned firms. Additionally, as a consultant, she has advised family-owned businesses in a range of industries.

Williams is a sought-after keynote speaker and panelist on a wide variety of HR topics and has written and facilitated several leadership development programs. She serves as director of education for Detroit SHRM and Membership Director for the MISHRM State Council. She is also a mentor to emerging HR professionals, fostering their growth and coaching them to reach their full potential.

“Knowing that my work has made a difference, especially within the HR community, means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for this recognition by my peers,” says Williams. “Rehmann has given me the opportunity to evolve my HR work into a business advisory role, which allows me to educate business owners about the tremendous strategic impact HR can make within their organizations. This in turn inspires them to incorporate HR into the fabric of their organization, strengthening their leadership teams and creating additional roles for future HR professionals.”

HR professionals are nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award by their peers, and nominees submit a comprehensive portfolio detailing their career accomplishments and impact on the profession. During the conference, HR peers in attendance engage in a blind voting process, reviewing non-identifying highlights of each candidate’s professional milestones and contributions.

“We’re very proud of Elizabeth for her achievements in the field of human resources,” says Stacie Kwaiser, CEO of Rehmann. “Elizabeth’s work mentoring the next generation of HR professionals is a perfect example of what we mean when we encourage our associates and clients to empower their purpose.”
