Dr. Victoria Williams, the only African American oculoplastic surgeon and neuro-Ophthalmologist in Michigan, has opened Williams Eye Specialty Clinic, an ophthalmology practice, located at 26771 W 12 Mile Road, Ste. 110 in Southfield.
Oculoplastic surgery corrects medical problems or is performed for cosmetic reasons. Neuro-ophthalmology corrects visual symptoms resulting from brain disease, such as visual loss or problems with eye movements.
Williams specializes in cosmetic and functional eyelid procedures, thyroid eye disease treatment, functional neurotoxin injection, the treatment of neuro-ophthalmologic diseases, and more. Her training and years of experience enable her to provide a high standard of care for a wide range of ocular and facial concerns, including the diagnosis and treatment of double vision, eye stroke, peripheral vision loss, thyroid disease, dry eyes, blocked tear ducts, and more.
Her clinic also will offer cosmetic procedures, including brow lifts, eyelid surgery, Botox, cosmetic filler, and more.
“There’s a need in metro Detroit for quality eye care. In communities of color, it is essential for patients to see that there are doctors they can relate to, doctors who look like them,” says Williams. “This is especially important when it comes to such personal care as neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic, and that is why I’ve opened this culturally competent clinic to fill the void.”
Board certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Williams Eye Specialty Clinic will host its grand opening on Friday, Sept. 27, with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. RSVP at info@Williamseyeclinic.com.
