Michigan Sports Hall of Fame All Star Online Auction Nov. 15-21

DETROIT (Nov. 15, 2010) — Sports fans seeking that special holiday gift for their fellow fans or family members will have an opportunity to bid on unique sports experiences and items involving members of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) and local professional and collegiate sports teams including the Detroit Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers and Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. 

The MSHOF All Star Online Auction will feature more than 40 packages and sports collectibles with some of the biggest names in the history of Michigan sports.  Examples include several Red Wings’ packages including lunch with Gordie Howe and Bill Gadsby, or a game in a suite with Ted Lindsay and Gadsby; airfare and hotel accommodations for two and a day in the San Diego Padres’ broadcast booth with legendary announcer and Michigan-native Dick Enberg; the opportunity to host University of Michigan-great Rick Leach at your tailgate party before a Wolverines’ football game, then join him on the sidelines for the game;  and NFL football talk over lunch with legendary Lions linebackers’ Joe Schmidt and Mike Lucci. The list of Michigan Sports Hall of Famers offering experiences also includes Lem Barney, Billy Sims, Joe DeLamielleure, Willie Horton, Bruce Martyn, Ray Scott, Eddie Murray, Greg Kelser, Mickey Lolich, Frank Beckmann, and many more. 

All experiences and items in the MSHOF All Star Online Auction will be live on eBay.com at 12:01 EST on Friday, Nov. 12, and bidding will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 11:59 p.m. EST.  More details of the auction items are available on the MSHOF website at www.michigansportshof.org, in addition to periodic auction updates that will be posted on the MSHOF Facebook and Twitter accounts. All auction items are tax deductible and proceeds will support the MSHOF and the Dave Bing Scholarship for Leadership and Achievement.
