Dearborn-based Global Auto Mobility announced Michelle L. Reaves as the recipient of the 2025 Global Auto Mobility Industry Innovation Award. The award will be presented on April 22 at the Our Smart Future business breakfast at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield.
Reaves is executive director of the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP), a nonprofit with nearly 50 years of experience providing standards-aligned science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) educational experiences for Pre-K through 12th grade students.
As the first female director of DAPCEP, Reaves is the chief architect of several DAPCEP initiatives including the popular Pre-K to third-grade Explorers Program, the annual STEM Day at the Michigan Science Center, GEAR- UP student programming, the bi-annual DAPCEP Student Showcase, and the STEM In-State and Out-of-State College Tours. She also led the “Preparing African American Males in Energy and Education” (PAAMEE) project, that was underwritten by the National Science Foundation.
Prior to her appointment as executive director, Reaves was DAPCEP’s deputy director for five years.
“Her focus on bringing educational and career opportunities to the entire community has made Ms. Reaves a leader and innovator who we count on to guide us as we manage great changes over the upcoming year,” says Dan Keelan, publisher of Global Auto Mobility. “Michelle has built a reputation as an intelligent and creative leader.”
The Our Smart Future business breakfast is $99 to attend. Tickets are available here.
