Macomb Chambers Announce Collaboration Agreement

In a move that embraces today’s business environment and the desire to maintain and grow member features, services and benefits, while at the same time recognizing the importance of maximizing available resources, the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SHRCCI) and the Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) have signed a “Joint Venture” agreement that will have collaboration as its focal point.

Directors of both chambers recently approved the arrangement, designed to share services between them, while at the same time preserving the individuality, uniqueness and current office locations of both organizations. Combined, they serve 1,700 businesses and professions, with the majority of their members located in Macomb County.

Lisa Edwards will have dual roles, continuing to serve as President of the Anchor Bay Chamber, while taking on new responsibilities as Marketing Director for the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber. The combined initiatives of the chambers include collaborating on events, programs, marketing, promotion, publications, membership sales, and accounting functions.

SHRCCI President Wayne Oehmke said, “We’ve had a great working relationship with the ABCC and Lisa Edwards for a number of years, including licensing and managing one of our trademarked Business Resource Alliance Groups (BRAG) in their organization.” “Our combined efforts will bring efficiencies, strength and versatility to both organizations, and the members and communities we serve, and we’re excited to get started,” he continued.

ABCC President Lisa Edwards said she is “Looking forward to the opportunities the collaboration will bring to both chambers, and is very happy that each will be able to maintain its local presence, and at the same time be able to manage costs while still capitalizing on the strengths the combined organizations will bring their memberships.”

ABCC serves members primarily located in Chesterfield Twp., New Baltimore, New Haven, Lenox Twp. and Ira Twp., and will keep their current office located at 36341 Front Street, Suite 2, in New Baltimore, 586-725-5148, www.anchorbaychamber.com.

SHRCCI serves members in many communities, with its primary service areas of Sterling Heights, Utica, Shelby Twp., Clinton Twp., Macomb Twp. and Warren.
