The Battery Show and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo North America, the industry’s leading battery and electric vehicle event, returns to Huntington Place in Detroit today through Oct. 15.
The event draws more than 16,000 engineers, executives, and innovators for four days of hands-on learning, strategic networking, and direct access to cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of batteries and EVs.
Currently, 98 of the top 100 automotive suppliers to North America has a presence in Michigan, and 65 are headquartered in the state. The sector is responsible for over 1 million jobs in the state.
“The Battery Show North America stands as the undisputed global epicenter of innovation for the battery, electric vehicle industry, and energy storage industry” says Suzanne Deffree, group vice president at Manufacturing by Informa, a B2B event producer, publisher, and digital media business for the world’s $3-trillion advanced, technology-based manufacturing industry.
“As we return to Detroit, we’re convening the world’s most visionary leaders and groundbreaking companies to tackle the defining challenges impacting cleantech from revolutionary manufacturing processes and sustainable solutions to breakthrough battery chemistries and transformative EV infrastructure. This is where the future of electrification is forged, where industry pioneers collaborate, and where tomorrow’s energy solutions become today’s reality.”
Commencing with a hands-on workshop on Monday, then three full days of conference programming (Tuesday–Thursday), the conference includes 140-plus hours of expert-led sessions over five tracks including Battery Chemistry, Materials & Cell Innovation; Electrified Vehicle Systems & Powertrain Integration; Battery Manufacturing & Supply Chain Industrialization; Energy Storage & Grid Applications; and Advanced Air Mobility & Electrified Aviation Systems.
Speakers for the conference include Eric Symon, head of smart manufacturing at Panasonic Connect North America; Laura Wagner, EV battery sustainability and recycling manager at General Motors; Herminso Gómez, quality solutions manager at ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions; and Bob Lee president, North America, of LG Energy Solution.
