The Catholic Initiative 2026

The Catholic Initiative, Patrick Rugiero, and the Rugiero family hosted a dinner and reception on Oct. 19 at Roman Village Cucina Italiana in Dearborn. Titled “Building Legacy at St. Anne’s,” the event featured a talk by Fr. Mike Schmitz and an update on the Catholic Initiative’s investment in Detroit and its work at the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit. The Catholic Initiative is a Vatican-approved funding and preservation model launched by the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation and is designed to save, restore, and financially stabilize historic Catholic parishes and schools across the United States. // Photographs by Lindsay Schweickert
