The St. Clair Butterfly Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Auburn Hills with nationwide chapters that seeks to empower young people across the country to overcome trauma through mentorship programs based in the creative arts. Since 2007, the organization has served an estimated 14,000 young people with programs in creative writing, yoga and mindfulness training, visual arts, music, and gardening. It also works with community partners and helps train educators and facilitators to identify and effectively address symptoms of trauma. The foundation was founded by author Chip St. Clair — who overcame trauma using the methods he preaches — and his wife, Lisa.
