Oarsmen’s Ball 2026

The Detroit Boat Club hosted its 187th annual Friends of Detroit Rowing Oarsmen’s Ball on Feb. 7 at Jam Handy in Detroit. The black tie-optional evening celebrated the groundbreaking of the club’s eighth shellhouse and featured strolling appetizers, music, games, and a silent auction. The fundraiser supports the Friends of Detroit Rowing’s “Share an Oar…Share the Shore” campaign that is designed to help increase public access to the Detroit River and the sport of rowing. // Photographs by Christine M.J.
