Coming Together for Children 2023: Promise and Possibility

Beyond Basics hosted its annual Coming Together for Children event on Friday, March 3, at the Detroit Athletic Club. The nonprofit organization, which seeks to achieve literacy for everyone, raised funds for the goal while honoring local luminaries. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner and a program. Three awards were presented. The Literacy Chair Award Recipient was the A. A. Van Elslander Foundation; the Radiating Character Award Recipient recognized students of high character in the classroom and honoring Jack Aronson’s legacy; and the Partner of the Year Award Recipient(s) were Rev. Fr. Ryan Adams on behalf of Rev. Monsignor Charles Kosanke and Karina Lepkowski. The event was sponsored by the Wayne & Joan Webber Foundation, A.A.
