2023 Michigan Shines for Autism Gala

The 2023 Michigan Shines for Autism Gala, presented by DTE Foundation and Huntington Bank, took place April 22 at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit’s Sound Board. Guests listened to live music and participated in a silent auction before moving into the Grand Ballroom for a three course dinner, an on-stage program, a live auction, and a paddle raise. Live music was provided by Your Generation in Concert. The Autism Alliance of Michigan is leading a movement to fight for equity and inclusion in health care, education, employment, housing, and social acceptance. One in 44 Americans are on the autism spectrum and one in five have a disability. The Autism Alliance is working to change health care, education, employment, and housing systems for people with disabilities with a goal of making Michigan the best state in the U.S. for autism. // Photos by Patrick Gloria
