Sugar Factory American Brasserie is set to debut its newest location in downtown Detroit in late spring 2022. To be located at 45 Monroe St. in Bedrock’s One Campus Martius building, the 233-seat restaurant will feature Sugar Factory’s candy retail store with hundreds of candy options.
The main dining area will feature neon signs, floral walls, and a colorful candy heart wall, complemented by an outdoor patio. The restaurant replaces a former Hard Rock Cafe.
“There’s nothing else like this internationally-recognized, celebrity-enthused brand in the market and we’re excited to watch it become a destination for Detroiters and visitors,” says Naumann Idrees, vice president of leasing at Bedrock. “Sugar Factory’s lively and playful atmosphere will make an excellent addition to downtown Detroit with both its family-friendly sweet treats and social media-worthy, over-the-top cocktails and drinks.”
Guests can enjoy Sugar Factory’s signature breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings like a Flaming Hot Cheetos Burger, an eight-ounce Angus burger topped with Flaming Hot Cheetos crusted pepper jack cheese, pickles, shredded lettuce, chipotle mayo, and served on a Hot Cheetos crusted bun, and the Sugar Factory Rainbow Sliders served on colorful buns with American cheese, pickles, crispy onions, signature sauce, and a complimentary duck to take home.
For dessert, Sugar Factory will offer milkshakes served in chocolate-covered mugs, including the Cookie Monster Make a Wish Insane Milkshake and the Caramel Sugar Daddy Cheesecake Insane Milkshake made with blended vanilla ice cream, cheesecake, caramel, and topped with whipped cream, a slice of New York style cheesecake, Sugar Daddy candy, and a rainbow lollipop served in a chocolate covered mug with crushed graham crackers.
There’s also the King Kong Sundae, which serves up to 12 people and features 24 scoops of ice cream covered with sprinkles, gummy bears, caramel sauce, fudge sauce, and giant whirly pops.
Stepping into the candy retail store, guests can explore Sugar Factory’s floor-to-ceiling candy wall, which will offer a variety of sweet treats, including the brand’s famous couture pops, and snap pictures in-front of an Instagram-worthy candy dot wall.
The restaurant will also feature indoor and outdoor bar seating, where guests can enjoy smoking candy goblets like the Cali Love featuring Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila blended with crisp apple and tropical pineapple flavor and topped with sweet key lime slices and apple rings; The Rock’s The Peoples Watermelon Cadillac Margarita, made with his Teremana Tequila; and Nick Cannon’s The Big Cloud made with a blend of Voli vodka, Selvarey rum, tropical pineapple, fresh peach and melon, and topped with fluffy blue raspberry cotton candy garnish.
All the goblets can also be made without alcohol, as well.
