Slick City Action Park, the world’s first indoor dry-slide and air court park for all ages, is opening its first Michigan facility in Troy in early March.
Located at 1820 Crooks Rd. (north of W. Maple Road), the new park will feature multi-lane racing slides, the Avalanche, the Zig Zag, the Mega Launch, and the Python.
Other attractions include a zipline, sports and dodgeball court, a junior jungle, a web crawler, and private and shared party rooms. A café also will be located on-site, offering guests a place to relax and refuel with a variety of food, drinks, and snacks between adventures.
“This is something Michigan has never seen before,” says Toby Buechner, owner of Slick City Troy. “We’ve spent decades helping kids and families in our community grow, play, and make memories through sports and recreation. Slick City takes that same mission and kicks it into high gear. It’s the next big thing for family fun in our state.”
Founded in 2021, Slick City is headquartered in St. Louis and Nashville. It opened its first location in Denver in early 2022. Since then, Slick City has introduced 33 states to its entertainment experience with more than 100 locations.
Slick City is designed to offer active entertainment that combines speed, energy, and connection in an indoor, no-water environment.
The Buechner family has a track record in youth and family entertainment. It oversees four Troy Gym facilities, complemented by Tiny Geniuses Daycare and Preschool.
“We’ve built our business around kids, families, and community,” says Heather Shine, director of operations for Slick City Troy. “Slick City Troy fits perfectly into that vision. It’s active, inclusive, and designed to bring people together. We’re proud to introduce a brand-new experience to Michigan that families will want to enjoy again and again.”
