Mission Point Resort, the largest family-owned hotel on Mackinac Island, opens today after the spring/summer travel season was delayed due to COVID-19. The resort said it has prepared and cleaned all 241 guest rooms and other facilities to welcome guests.

The opening joins multiple other hotels, stores, restaurants, and tourist attractions that are now accepting visitors on Mackinac Island, one of the nation’s most historic and popular summer resort destinations. For a list of open, or soon to be opened venues, visit here.

Liz Ware, vice president of marketing at Mission Point Resort, says the facility has developed and implemented its Mission Point Cares Cleanliness and Public Health Plan, drawing from the latest industry guidelines, emerging best practices, and procedures to ensure guest satisfaction.

In addition, the resort:

  • Continued its relationship with nearby farms and suppliers on the mainland to provide fresh, locally sourced ingredients for each of their in-house restaurants as part of its ‘farm-to-table’ cuisine program.
  • Completed a recent overhaul and major renovations to the conference center and meeting room technology infrastructure, making it easier for guests to work remotely. In addition, guests have access to multiple onsite workspaces.
  • Maintained its partnership with Michigan companies such as Detroit Bikes, Detroit Denim, and designers Earth 2 Earth to increase the resort’s on-site bicycle fleet, and to enhance the décor and gift offerings throughout the property.
