The Dodge brand of Stellantis in Auburn Hills is adding Purple Haze as a limited-run exterior shade exclusive to the 2027 Dodge Charger lineup for the muscle car’s 60th anniversary.
The new limited-run Purple Haze exterior color, available exclusively for the 2027 model year, is open for orders now for the entire Dodge Charger lineup at a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $795.
According to Dodge, Purple Haze provides more choice and carves out new territory for the brand, while also strengthening the Dodge Charger’s current color lineup, joining Bludicrous, Green Machine, Redeye, Sub-Zero, White Knuckle, and Diamond Black as exterior color options.
“Purple Haze is more than a color, it cranks up 60 years of Charger attitude, delivering a bold, factory-exclusive statement that’s every bit as formidable as the performance behind it,” says Matt McAlear, CEO of Dodge.
Engineered for maximum visual punch, Dodge’s Purple Haze blends vintage aesthetics with modern paint innovations. Created with a high gloss clearcoat, Purple Haze shifts in bright sunlight yet retreats to a rich, deep purple in the shade.
Charger buyers can amp up their Purple Haze exterior with even more customization from the factory by adding Fratzog dual stripes, 10 different Mopar stripes and graphics options, a Satin Black painted hood, or a Satin Black hood patch for SIXPACK-powered models.
Purple has long been a signature color of Dodge muscle, from 1970’s Plum Crazy to more recent shades like In‑Violet and Hellraisin. The all-new Purple Haze carries that legacy forward, blending heritage with modern performance across the entire 2027 Dodge Charger lineup, from the 550-horsepower SIXPACK-powered Charger Scat Pack and 420-horsepower Charger R/T to the all-electric 670-horsepower Charger Daytona, the automaker says.
The new Dodge Charger color will make its public debut at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Pa. on July 10-12.

The 2027 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk gains the all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This propulsion combination produces 324 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque.
Featuring the industry’s first high-volume application of Turbulent Jet Ignition, the Hurricane 4 Turbo achieves a segment-leading output of 162 horsepower per liter while providing responsive, efficient performance.
In addition to the Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, the Trailhawk features:
- Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system with two-speed transfer case.
- Selec-Terrain traction control system with Rock mode.
- Quadra-Lift air suspension system with electronic semi-active damping.
- Rear electronic limited-slip differential.
- 5-inch Goodyear Territory All-Terrain tires.
- Integrated TrailCam off-road camera with dynamic tire path and rear camera washer.
- Six high-strength steel skid plates to protect the engine, transmission, transfer case, suspension components and the fuel tank.
Serving as the premium off-road model, Overland arrives with a more aggressive front end to distinguish itself from other Grand Cherokee models. Exterior design elements include bright tow hooks, painted black lower bodywork, and 21-inch machine-faced wheels with mid-gloss Granite Crystal pockets. A body-color painted roof and Silver Silk exterior accents further amplify Grand Cherokee Overland’s premium, off-road position.
Interior features include “Overland” embossing on the front seat backs. Front passengers receive heated and ventilated seats, while rear passengers along for the adventure gain standard heated seats. Throughout, designers implemented a unique “An-Teak” Satin Chrome accent with a Liquid Chrome applique tracer inside.
Other Overland features include:
- Quadra-Trac II with a two-speed transfer case.
