Chick-fil-A announced today it’s furthering its investment in the state of Michigan with approximately 25-30 new locally-owned and -operated restaurants set to open across the state by the end of 2028. These new restaurants are expected to create more than 2,500 jobs across Michigan.

Over the next few years, the popular fast-food chain says Michiganders can anticipate new restaurants in areas including:

  • Chesterfield Township, Roseville, Taylor, and Fort Gratiot slated to open this fall/winter.
  • A licensed location in the First National Building in downtown Detroit.
  • Locally-owned and -operated restaurants in Detroit, Auburn Hills, Lincoln Park, Orion Township, Clinton Township, Canton Township, and Ann Arbor.
  • Lansing and Jackson slated to open in 2025.
  • Saginaw slated for 2025.
  • Benton Harbor slated for 2025.

“With a unique blend of rural, suburban and city neighborhoods, Michigan is filled with tight-knit communities and proud residents,” says Scott Mayson, area director for Chick-fil-A’s Midwest region. “When looking to identify new opportunities to serve guests and support local communities and economic development, expanding our presence in Michigan was a clear next step.

“For nearly a decade, our passionate local owner-operators have been serving the Great Lakes region, where they are committed to attracting and developing top talent, delivering delicious food and our signature hospitality, and building meaningful relationships in their communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to expand our care for team members and guests with new restaurants across Michigan.”

Chick-fil-A says its franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local owner-operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their team members each day.

Day-to-day activities of the business include employing approximately 80-120 full- and part-time employees serving guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the community’s needs.

The company says it’s seeking franchise candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and a CEO mindset, who are passionate about serving great food and providing exceptional hospitality in a fast-paced environment. Learn more about franchising opportunities by visiting here.

Made with a real boneless breast of chicken with no added fillers, the restaurant’s breaded chicken is pressure cooked in fully refined peanut oil. To complement the chicken, fresh produce is delivered to Chick-fil-A restaurants up to six times a week.
