Cartier has opened a new boutique store on Level 1 at the Somerset Collection South in Troy. The store is located next to Saks Fifth Avenue.
The location celebrates “the unparalleled legacy of transportation innovation and rich musical history synonymous with” metro Detroit, “while embracing the elegant Art Deco style engrained in the city’s architecture and the design codes of the Maison alike.”
The complete range of the Maison’s creations are available, including jewelry, watches, leather goods, accessories, and fragrance. Maison is French for house.
Eyewear selections include the Première de Cartier and Décor C de Cartier collections.
The boutique’s façade pays tribute to the Art Deco style. It features fluted columns and golden accents. The Maison’s emblematic Panther is silhouetted behind delicate ornamentation at the boutique’s far edge.
The interior layout nods to the design connections to the city, from metallic accents that reference Detroit’s industrial soul to verdant touches inspired by Belle Isle.
Once inside, the Panther reappears in a bespoke inlaid mural that shows her crossing Detroit’s Ambassador Bridge at dawn, leading guests on a journey of exploration.
Curved and beaded wooden columns frame the Eyewear section, embodying the combination of fluidity and precision central to both the automotive and music industries, as well as Cartier’s savoir-faire.
The Cartier Troy boutique, which opened on Jan. 17, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday from noon-6 p.m.
Today, Cartier is part of the Richemont Group and has a worldwide presence through its network of flagships and boutiques, authorized retail partners, and online. The brand was founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier.
