Ambassador Cigars and Spirits, a new Troy-based lounge featuring premium cigars, is holding its grand opening today.
The 5,000-square-foot facility, located at 3614 Rochester Rd. (just north of Big Beaver Road), features a 500-square-foot glass enclosed, walk-in humidor. The humidor holds a rotating selection of rare cigars as well as more than 500 cigars from such brands as Nat Sherman, Asylum, Fuente, Padron, and more. Certified cigar tobacconists personally selected the brands.
Company officials say there are four certified tobacconists in Michigan, all of whom are on staff at Ambassador Cigars and Spirits to educate guests.
“It starts with the cigars,” says Jeff DeSandre, owner of Ambassador Cigars and Spirits. “Cigars are our passion and the focus of our business.”
A full-service bar with cocktail and cigar pairings, liquor and wine, 12 craft beers on tap, and a menu featuring sandwiches, artisan pizzas, and Cuban-inspired small plates is also available. Cuban coffee and breakfast will be offered in the mornings.
The bar accommodates 10 guests, and there is additional seating at high top tables and booths for as many as 50 guests.
The facility also offers a private membership, which is limited to 100 people, and allows access to a separate 1,000-square-foot private membership lounge, a personal humidor, and a library and conference room for business meetings and receptions. Non-members may reserve the conference space based on availability.
Ambassador Cigar and Spirits is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
