The Chevrolet brand of General Motors Co. in Detroit today announced design, safety, technology, and driver assistance feature updates to its 2027 Trax and 2027 Trailblazer models.

“Trax and Trailblazer combined are currently having their best sales year ever, with more than a quarter-million vehicles delivered year-to-date,” says Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet. “Chevrolet is investing in the segment at the right time.

“With both these nameplates, Chevrolet sells more vehicles in the small SUV segment than anyone else, and these updates will make them an even stronger option for customers, with more standard safety, improved tech, and a refreshed design.”

Among the updates:

Safety: Now more than 20 standard safety and driver assistance features1, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Front & Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat, and Blind Zone Steering Assist.

Tech: Google built-in with Gemini is included in a user interface that features a new, larger standard 11-inch-diagonal driver information center and 11.3-inch-diagonal infotainment screen. Paired with newly available OnStar One (included for 12 months), which includes the full suite of OnStar services such as in-vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot capability3 and video streaming, Trax and Trailblazer offer a comprehensive suite of technology.

Design: Exterior and interior enhancements add style plus flexibility and comfort for occupants.

Z71: Trailblazer offers an adventure-ready Z71 trim for the first time.

The 2027 Trax has streamlined its trim offerings, and will be available as an entry-level Trax, RS and ACTIV. The 2027 Trailblazer will be offered as an entry-level Trailblazer, RS and all-new Z71.

The electrical and software architecture is upgraded in both vehicles, enabling more than 20 standard safety and driver assistance features for the 2027 Trax and Trailblazer. New standard safety features that will be introduced in the 2027 models include Reverse Automatic Braking, Safety Seat Alert, Side Bicyclist Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Front Park Assist, Rear Seat Belt Indicator, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.

Making its debut on Trax and Trailblazer, Storm Sky Gray is an all-new interior color for the Chevrolet brand, offering a more natural, earthy tone.

According to Chevrolet, the 2027 Chevrolet Trax adopts a more premium look and feel, highlighted by a new grille, new wheel designs, all-LED taillamps, and a redesigned liftgate.

The entry-level Trax features wheels with a higher-contrast finish for a more urban look. RS further emphasizes its sporty personality with 19-inch wheels, the largest available across all trims. ACTIV maintains an adventure-inspired aesthetic, including a unique front-end design.

Inside, distinctive hexagonal side vents give the instrument panel a fresh, modern appearance. A power liftgate is available on Trax for the first time.

Chevrolet says it’s bringing the Z71 trim to the 2027 Trailblazer as Chevy’s entry-level adventure-ready AWD model.

The “Z” identifier has been used by Chevrolet since 1963 to signify added capability. Since its 1988 debut on Chevrolet’s full-size pickup line, Z71 has earned a reputation for added rugged appearance and hardware, and is available today on Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado, and Silverado. Adding Z71 to Trailblazer brings the capability customers are looking for when the pavement ends.

The Trailblazer Z71 will feature standard AWD, an off-road-tuned suspension, underbody skid plate, and sport-terrain tires. The Z71 trim also will feature debossed front-row headrests and a new Jet Black and Storm Sky Gray interior with orange accents.

“Z71 has become a powerful expression of Chevrolet’s adventurous spirit, resonating with customers who want capability, confidence, and distinctive design in one package,” says Megan Liebrock, assistant marketing manager for Trax and Trailblazer. “By bringing that proven Z71 attitude to Trailblazer, we’re giving more customers an authentic way to embrace everyday exploration.”

The Trailblazer interior is designed for the driver, says Chevrolet. A new column-mounted shifter enables a redesigned center console with more flexible storage, including cupholders that can be retracted to provide additional open storage. The updated design enables the addition of HVAC vents for rear passengers as well.

AutoSense power liftgate is now available for Trailblazer.

The Trax and Trailblazer will be assembled with domestically with globally sourced parts. They will be available at Chevrolet dealers in Spring 2027.
