High Street Insurance Partners, a full-service independent insurance brokerage in Traverse City, has announced it acquired Hershey Insurance Agency (HIA), another full-service firm based in Troy.
The acquisition is one of 17 purchases finalized by High Street in recent months, making it one of the most active brokerage firms in the U.S. in terms of acquisitions. It has acquired 97 agencies since its founding three years ago and has a geographical footprint in 23 states.
“We’re pleased to expand our presence here in Michigan and throughout the Midwest,” says Scott Wick, CEO of HSIP. “With the addition of HIA, we’re even better positioned to address the diverse insurance needs of clients here in our home state.”
HIA was founded in 1978 and offers business, personal, and group insurance from its selection of carriers. Services range from automotive and homeowners to professional liability, business risk, and environmental.

It offers an array of business insurance, risk management, employee benefits, human capital management, financial and retirement services, and personal insurance solutions delivered through community-focused agencies. HSIP employs more than 1,700 people.
