Italian luxury fashion house Prada has opened a new store at The Somerset Collection in Troy.
The 4,250-square-foot space, located on Level 1 of Somerset South, showcases men’s and women’s collections, including ready-to-wear, leather goods, footwear, and accessories.
The ready-to-wear offering for women comprises Prada silhouettes and materials, tailored sets and dresses in sablè, poplin shirting, and an assortment of separates in brushed canvas and denim, according to the retailer. A selection of leopard print, and nappa leather handbags also are on display, punctuated by sling-backs, boots, and loafers in an array of prints and colors.
The men’s selection is characterized by velvet denim, checkered wool, and canvas garments in natural shades ranging from warm brown to mineral tones, the company says. Worn finishes and relaxed fits add to an “effortless yet refined mood.” Footwear in spazzolato leather and vitello leather shoulder bags and crossbodies complement the grouping with their contemporary design.
The new boutique is features a bright facade bathed in backlight, with crisscrossing lines creating green triangular shapes that echo the brand’s logo. The entrance, framed with large windows, allows a glimpse into the store.
The interior is characterized by the brand’s iconic design elements such as the black and white checkered marble floor — inspired by the original Prada store in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan — and by the signature green color, outlined on the walls by black profiles. Velvet seats of the same green tone complete the space.
