The Oakland Expo Center, located at 2212 Mall Drive East in Waterford Township, has announced it will open for business on Friday, Nov. 17.
The 80,000-square-foot event space, owned and operated by industry veteran David Grossman of Pegasus Entertainment Inc., seeks to draw major trade shows, black-tie galas, conventions, and weddings.
“We’ve identified a critical need for an expansive, quality, accessible event space in Oakland County,” says Grossman. “We’ve designed a premier venue that is fully customizable and ready to accommodate every request and occasion from sit-down parties of 100 people to 1,000 people or more.”
Located northwest of downtown Pontiac off Telegraph Road, just north of M-59, the Oakland Expo Center features a wide-open design, high ceilings, LED lighting, and space for both indoor and outdoor entertaining.
The Oakland Expo Center, located immediately north of Oakland County Executive offices, offers large bay access for RVs, cars, and boats, as well as 1,000 parking spaces located in front of its building.
The Oakland Expo Center features a complete range of in-house services. Southfield-based Pegasus Entertainment, which Grossman has owned for 42 years, states it provides industry-leading event services including sound, lighting, and technical support, as well as draping, staging, dance floors, tables, tablecloths, place settings, chairs, and more.
Grossman states he has worked hand-in-hand with leading event planners across the county to provide event support for weddings, car shows, and high-profile events, including a presidential inauguration event in Washington, D.C.
Grossman has partnered with Cutting Edge Cuisine, led by caterer and restauranteur Zack Sklar, to provide in-house culinary services at the Oakland Expo Center. Sklar is a partner in Peas & Carrots Hospitality, which owns and manages Social Kitchen & Bar in downtown Birmingham, as well as MEX and Beau’s Grillery in Bloomfield Township.
