Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Woodward Dream Show, a three-day event at M1 Concourse in Pontiac that will offer a close-up array of classic and modern cars, a juried show and competition, along with food, fashion, and design. The events will run Aug. 19-21.
The first of two automotive events hosted by M1 Concourse — a garage condominium and racetrack facility located at the northwest corner of Woodward Avenue and South Boulevard — the Dream Show is a ticketed event that will run in conjunction with the annual festivities of the Dream Cruise, which is free and scheduled for Aug. 21.
“We see our Dream Show as an enhancement of the overall Dream Cruise experience,” says Dave Sherman, executive director of M1 Concourse. “When you’re out on Woodward you’re going to sit there and see some great cars, but you’ll see them for 10-15 seconds as they drive by. Here (at M1 Concourse), you’ll have a chance to see many of the best cars that you’ll see out on Woodward, but you’ll get to spend time with them, see them up close, and talk to the owners in a way that you would never have been able to before.”
Tickets for the weekend can be bought individually for $100 per day, and a three-day VIP pass is available for $275. The tickets cover admission to the event, parking, along with food and drinks.
Each day includes different featured events, and there will be two after-hours ticketed events on Thursday and Friday, for which tickets cost $200.
The event begins at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19 with “Cruisin’ M1 Circuit Day,” which will showcase 60 invited performance cars, including a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and a large group of 1932 Deuce Coupes and High Boys.
Hot rods, custom cars, muscle cars, and cruisers will be featured on Friday for a juried competition, with winners picked by peers in each of the 20 classes. In addition, guests will be able to see 50 invited significant cars that helped shape Woodward cruising and American car culture.
Saturday, the day of the Dream Cruise, will feature the “Cruisin’ The Concourse Show,” where 20 local car clubs will bring 100 of their members best cars. During the show, guests can meet the owners and spend time with the 1,000 cars that will be displayed on the 87-acre site of M1 Concourse.
The special event on Thursday night will be “Rev up the Grille,” where fans will have a chance to join teams, owners, and drivers at a barbecue. “Cars & Cigars,” is Friday night, where guests get access to view hot rods, customs, and cruisers of the past and present while enjoying premium cigars, food, and spirits.
Ticket holders will also have access to the Taste of Woodward, an on-site dining location offering a range of menu options — from Detroit diner fare like coney dogs and burgers, to the more out of the ordinary — as well as wine, spirits, and other beverages.

This is the first of two major automotive enthusiast events hosted by M1 Concourse this year. The American Speed Festival, a celebration of automotive excellence of the past, present, and future, arrives at M1 Sept. 30-Oct. 3. Tickets are also on sale for that event at www.americanspeedfestival.com.
In addition, the Detroit Auto Dealers Association in Troy will produce Motor Bella at M1 Concourse from Sept. 21-26, to replace the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The new event will bring next-generation mobility and vehicle debuts to media, show-goers, and automotive enthusiasts while also addressing continued COVID-19 concerns about indoor events.
“We see this outdoor experience at M1 as a bridge to the future” says Doug North, chairman of the event. “One that will continue to evolve as we explore new ways of presenting mobility and as we navigate through these unprecedented times. We are very cognizant of the importance and impact our show and our events have on the state and the entire metro Detroit area. This will always be part of our considerations for the future.”
Plans call for 1.6 million square feet of vehicle and technology display space, including terrain ideal for showcasing off-roading capabilities. M1 Concourse also offers a 1.5-mile track on the grounds for technology and vehicle demonstrations.
A charity initiative, which will continue the NAIAS’ and Detroit Auto Dealers Association’s commitment to children and families in need, also will be part of the six-day Motor Bella.
