Detroit-based Little Caesars Pizza today announced the launch of Reserve-N-Ready, which features a heated, in-store self-service mobile order pick-up station called the Pizza Portal.
The Reserve-N-Ready system is the first heated self-service mobile order pick-up station in the quick service restaurant industry. It is currently being tested in select stores and will expand to other markets later this year. The test stores are in Troy, at 2993 E. Big Beaver, and at 14 stores in Tucson, Ariz.
Using the Reserve-N-Ready system, customers can order and pre-pay from the Little Caesars mobile app, which will notify them when their pizza is ready. Customers can choose any pizza, toppings, or expanded menu option using the mobile app.
When the customer arrives at the store, they skip the line, go straight to the Pizza Portal, and input a three-digit identification number or scan a QR code. This unlocks the customer’s secured compartment where the pizza is waiting for them in the hot-holding technology station.
“The genuine purpose behind integrating advanced technology into our stores is all about improving the customer experience, and building on our convenience and quality,” says David Scrivano, president and CEO of Little Caesars.
“We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to mesh mobile with our Hot-N-Ready model to improve on ‘The World’s Easiest Way to Pizza.’ We changed the pizza game when we introduced Hot-N-Ready. We think Reserve-N-Ready featuring our breakthrough Pizza Portal has the potential to do it again.”
Little Caesars and Ohio-based Apex Supply Chain Technologies co-developed the Pizza Portal’s proprietary technology.
Little Caesars is the largest carryout-only pizza chain in the United States, based on net number of stores in 2016. Founded in 1959 by Mike and Marian Ilitch as a single, family-owned restaurant, Little Caesars is the third largest pizza chain in the world with stores in 22 countries and territories worldwide, including in each of the 50 U.S. states.
