Former Dykema Lawyers Form New Law Firm in Downtown Detroit

Four former attorneys from Dykema have started Hickey Hauck Bishoff & Jeffers, a law firm specializing in business and employment litigation and counseling. The practice opened today at One Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit.

“We have spent our careers counseling and representing clients in the resolution of business disputes, commercial contracts, and employment matters in Michigan and throughout the U.S.,” says Patrick Hickey, a partner and founding member of the firm. “We … (will) continue providing value-based and business-savvy legal services to clients nationwide from our home base in the heart of Detroit’s central business district.”

The partners include Hickey, who specializes in business and employment litigation and counseling, with an emphasis on trade secret, non-compete, and employment litigation. Hickey previously practiced law for more than 30 years at Detroit-based Dykema, serving on its executive board and as a practice group leader. Mark Hauck, who specializes in business law, has practiced at Dykema for more than three decades, serving as head of the business litigation practice group and as assistant general counsel.

Also with the firm are Thomas Bishoff represents parties in commercial disputes in the automotive, health care, construction, and insurance industries as well as Benjamin Jeffers, a business lawyer focused on litigation and dispute resolution in the automotive, consumer products, manufacturing, healthcare, and insurance sectors.

Hickey says the firm will offer practice in the areas of automotive counseling and litigation; privately-owned business disputes; employment; trade secret and non-compete counseling and litigation; shareholder disputes; class actions; insurance disputes; contract disputes; health care industry disputes; manufacturer sales representative disputes; and construction litigation.
