District Capital, a full-service mortgage banking firm headquartered in Detroit’s Brush Park, has launched its Capital Markets and Servicing Platform.
The office is located at 42 Watson St., a few blocks northeast of Little Caesars Arena. The company has experts in analytics, origination, loan document negotiation, closing and post-closing servicing, and workouts. District Capital already has closed more than $100 million in loans, and 16 deals under application are expected to close in the first quarter.
“We’ve built an exceptional roster of young, yet seasoned, professionals who understand the market and our clients’ needs with a track record of leveraging key relationships to execute on behalf of our clients with integrity,” says Kevin Kovachevich, founder and owner of District Capital. “We hand-picked this team to be both an immediate force in the industry and to dominate for the next 20 years.”
The company was started in response to Detroit’s growing real estate market and the development market’s demand for brokers who can leverage technology and lending relationships.
Originally formed in 2018 as a development company, Kovachevich says the firm still is focusing on the acquisition of select properties within the city.
