The new Comerica Park sign on the stadium’s scoreboard and the filling in of the dirt “keyhole” between the pitcher’s mound and home plate aren’t the only changes baseball fans can expect when they arrive for Opening Day 2025 on April 4.
The local MLB team has a new Home Plate Club and other enhancements, many Marquee Weekends, new concession items and merchandise, fan giveaways, and themed games awaiting the Tigers faithful.
“Coming off an incredible postseason run last year, we are thrilled to welcome back the best fans in baseball to Comerica Park for the 2025 season,” says Ryan Gustafson, president and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment.
“We continue to make investments to enhance the ballpark experience, including a new ballpark control room, upgraded amenities and food and beverage options, and we are excited to unveil the Home Plate Club, Tiger Den, and Loge Box seating areas, expanding our wide range of game-viewing options for fans. We’re looking forward to getting the season underway and creating an incredible home field advantage at Comerica Park.”
The biggest change in the ballpark is the new Home Plate Club behind home plate, featuring 350 comfort seats and an exclusive club area beneath the stands, between the two clubhouses, with direct access to the VIP seats.
The Home Plate Club’s seats feature quick-touch heating and cooling climate-control technology developed by Promethient in Traverse City, allowing fans to experience enhanced comfortability while enjoying games and events at Comerica Park in all weather conditions.
In addition to premium seating, Home Plate Club members will receive an unparalleled experience from the door to the diamond, including VIP parking, private entry and restrooms, all-inclusive food and beverage, in-seat service, curated amenities, and more.

Another enhancement to the 25-year-old stadium are the Lower-Level Loge Boxes that include access to the Home Plate Club and offer semi-private luxury seating. A privacy wall partially encloses these seats, providing additional comfort directly in front of each chair.
In addition, the Tiger Den chairs have been replaced with ultra-comfortable, marine-grade vinyl seats, along with side tables now fixed between every two seats. The Tiger Den Hall food menu has been refreshed with new options on a rotating basis. Each Tiger Den Season Ticket Member also receives $10 to use toward ballpark favorites.
The Tigers also completed a full upgrade of the previous Comerica Park control room, which was installed in 2012, to meet the graphics and replay needs of modern MLB ballpark control rooms. The state-of-the-art equipment includes remotely operated cameras throughout the ballpark, including team bullpens, within the backstop behind home plate and in the Comerica Big Cat Court for special event coverage.
Marquee Weekends will offer fans premium giveaways, themed celebrations, weekend-long community activities, and more.
