Jax Kar Wash, based in Birmingham, has added nine new locations in the first quarter of 2025, bringing its total footprint to 50 car washes in Michigan and Wisconsin.
Jax has opened brand-new locations in Madison Heights, Romeo Plank, and Northville, and in Franklin and Menomonee Falls, Wisc. In Wisconsin, Jax operates under the Jilly’s Car Wash brand.
Jax has also been expanding through acquisition, and over the past 12 months has closed on two acquisitions in Michigan. In October, it closed on the purchase of six operating Clean View locations and several additional sites for future greenfield builds.
In March 2025, the company closed on the acquisition of Lighthouse Car Wash in Ann Arbor, which, combined with investments in its existing Ann Arbor location, is expected to solidify its presence in the area.

Zimmerman says the company’s focus is to grow in high-traffic areas, bringing customers upgraded amenities, including interior cleaning at eight locations and indoor self-vacuums at two locations.
The company says it plans to open more locations in 2025, with more opportunities on the horizon. In addition to new openings, Jax says it’s investing in major renovations at several existing locations. Jax has been serving customers in Michigan with its custom car washing services since 1953.
