Wahl Tents Event Structures in Clinton Township has been acquired by HRG Capital, a minority-owned private equity firm in Bloomfield Hills. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1996, Wahl Tents provides a large array of event rental products with a focus on large structure tents for sporting events, corporate events, festivals/fairs, temporary warehousing, and weddings.
In recent months, HRG Capital has been making strategic acquisitions in the specialty event rental sector, having purchased Bos Structures and Tents in Waterford Township and Tecumseh Tent Rental in Brooklyn last July.
HRG Capital will continue operating Wahl Tents under its established name and look to continue its legacy.
HRG Capital’s three event rental companies service such marquee events as Faster Horses, Detroit Grand Prix, the NASCAR series at Michigan International Speedway, and more.
“We are very excited to bring Wahl on board and be able to provide our customers a wider range of rental offerings and additional team support,” says David Lazarus Jr., managing partner of HRG Capital. “With this acquisition, we will look to compete with the larger national event rental companies and continue to grow our footprint as one of the main structure tent rental companies in the Midwest.”
Many national event rental companies such as Marquee Events and InProduction have already been consolidated by private equity groups such as Dubin Clark.
“We look to continue the personable family business approach that Bos, Tecumseh, and Wahl had with our customers throughout our growth and scale,” Lazarus adds. “I believe it is vital to maintain a personal touch and keep a welcoming culture in our workplace.”
Alongside their drive for organic growth, HRG Capital is still pursuing additional acquisitions in the event rental space across the Midwest.
