Pacific Media Group, part of Hour Media in Troy, has acquired certain assets of SagaCity Media in Portland, Ore., through a voluntary receivership proceeding.
The acquisition, finalized following an extensive competitive bid process conducted by the receiver, allows Hour Media and Pacific Media Group to revitalize SagaCity Media’s operations and leverage its unique market position.
SagaCity Media, known for its notable magazine titles and websites, publishes Portland Monthly, Seattle Met, and Houstonia magazines along with its Mountain Division magazines Aspen Sojourner, Vail Beaver Creek, and Park City Magazine.

Pacific Media Group plans to implement an efficient turnaround strategy for SagaCity Media, focusing on key areas such as increased customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and investing in the markets in which the publications operate.
In turn, the acquisition allows Pacific Media Group to expand its reach and enhance its portfolio by entering new markets.
“SagaCity Media titles have a rich history and a dedicated customer base,” says Stefan Wanczyk, CEO of Hour Media. “Our goal is to harness this potential and work collaboratively with its team to restore its reputation and drive growth.”
The management team at Pacific Media Group will focus on revitalizing brand identity and improving offerings.
“This deal makes our 32nd acquisition, and we are delighted to add these great media properties to our roster of award-winning city, regional, and custom-published magazines,” says John Balardo, president of Hour Media.
