Southfield-based automotive systems and components supplier Denso today announced its display for the 2018 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at Detroit’s Cobo Center will include new products and technologies “critical to the future of mobility.”

The company’s exhibit will include interactive mobility technology displays and virtual reality experiences led by engineering and recruiting experts to illustrate how the future of connected, autonomous, shared, and electrified mobility solutions could take shape.

“Transportation will change rapidly over the next decade, as will society’s and our customers’ needs,” says Bill Foy, senior vice president of engineering at Denso’s North American headquarters in Southfield. “Our presence at NAIAS will express how we intend to deliver on these needs and create a future where mobility benefits society without hurting the environment.”

Denso’s technology display will include an Oculus Rift virtual reality demonstrations for connected and autonomous driving and renewable energy, electric batteries, and fuel cells used to power future electric vehicles.

Foy will also be participating in a supplier panel on Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. and will discuss the evolution of transportation and challenges in building the future of mobility. This will be Denso’s 14th consecutive appearance at NAIAS and the company is also an event sponsor.

Denso North America currently operates 28 consolidated subsidiaries and four affiliates while employing 23,000 people.
