Royal Oak Beaumont Opens After-hours Sports and Orthopedic Injury Clinic

Beaumont Health has opened a new Sports and Orthopedic Injury Clinic at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak that is staffed by orthopedic specialists seven days a week.

Beaumont Health has opened a new Sports and Orthopedic Injury Clinic at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak that is staffed by orthopedic specialists seven days a week.

The clinic will focus on recreational athletic injuries that often occur in the evening and on weekends, when most sports doctors aren’t available, until now. Open from 5-9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, the clinic can assist after many amateur sports injuries happen.

“Sports injuries and falls happen,” says Dr. Jeffrey Fischgrund, chief of orthopedics at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. “Don’t wait for care. The new after-hours Royal Oak clinic provides easy access to high-quality orthopedic care. From children to seniors, every patient will leave with a treatment plan. Our team of orthopedic specialists are here to help patients take their first steps toward recovery, so they can get back to doing what they love as quickly as possible.”

Patients will have access to same-day exams, imaging, surgical referrals, and expedited access to orthopedic specialists. Most major health insurances are accepted. Types of injuries seen at the clinic include:

  • Bone, joint, or muscle.
  • Suspected sprained ankle, foot, or knee.
  • Hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder.
  • Swollen joints.
  • Torn ligaments and tendons.
  • Bruises and contusions.
  • Tailbone injuries.

The clinic is not intended to provide emergency care, second opinions, post-surgical follow-up care, pain medication refills, or care for chronic medical conditions.

Appointments (call 248-551-9100) are recommended. The clinic is inside the Beaumont Medical Building on the campus of Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Free parking is available in the North Parking Deck adjacent to the Beaumont Medical Building.
