The Progressive Novi Boat Show cruises back into the Suburban Collection Showplace March 14-17 featuring a display of boats as well as a full line-up of promotions and activities.
Among the new features are the new “Hey Barbie” photo opportunity with a custom boat made by Wilson Marine and the Flip Flop ‘Ville show featuring a tribute to Jimmy Buffet and a flip flop fling contest to raise money for cancer research.
A returning event is Water Rollerz where kids can rock and roll on water. The cost is $5 for five minutes in rollers on water.
Other activities the Boat Show offers include:
- Harbor Market, which features high-end shopping for lake enthusiasts.
- A free boating safety course. Preregistration is required, visit here.
- Kids craft, which offers painting, backpack craft, and how to help stop the spread of aquatic invasive species.
- A boating skills virtual trainer from the United States Power Squadrons. Participants can maneuver a “Boston Whaler” on a virtual lake as well as learn how to depart, dock, and navigate through heavy winds though this technology.
In addition, a sustainability exhibit includes information on how the Michigan Clean Marina Program works to stop the spread of invasive species. There also will be information on shrink wrapping boats for winter and fiberglass recycling.
The Progressive Novi Boat Show is owned and produced by the Michigan Boating Industries Association in Commerce Township. Revenue generated for the event is returned to fund boater’s interests via MBIA’s programs and services.
Regular admission is $12 for adults, while children 12 and under free with an adult. Hours: Thursday and Friday: 2-9 p.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Parking is available at the Suburban Collection Showplace for $10.
