A new app called Detroit GP was unveiled today, offering fans of car racing the opportunity to purchase tickets, view an updated race schedule, and learn more about the upcoming Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix racing series on Belle Isle.

“The new DetroitGP mobile app will give our fans the opportunity to interact with the Grand Prix on a different level in 2016,” says Bud Denker, chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. “With the functions available, mobile users will be able to engage both before and during the Grand Prix, and we will be able to keep everyone up to date on all the latest happenings through interactive push notifications.”

Denker says the app will offer customers the ability to purchase tickets to the Grand Prix, to be held June 3-5 at Belle Isle Park, view maps of the venue, view entertainment options, purchase merchandise, and learn about the parking and transportation system, as no public parking is available on Belle Isle during the Grand Prix.

Denker says the app is native, meaning customers do not need to have an Internet connection to run the app. DetroitGP was created in partnership with Austin, Texas-based Avai Mobile.

The free app is available for both iOS and Android devices. â€‹
