Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel will introduce a food truck, featuring offerings such as lobster mac and cheese and shrimp tacos, at the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday.
“Our food truck customers will enjoy savory street fare, with some unexpected culinary twists,” says Randy Villareal, vice president of non-gaming operations at MotorCity Casino Hotel. “We were thrilled to, once again, collaborate with Chip Foose on this project since he was instrumental in the overall design of MotorCity Casino Hotel.”
Foose, the original designer of the casino and the star of the TV show, Overhaulin’, designed the food truck’s retro aesthetic. The food truck features a modern kitchen, a tablet ordering system, Wi-Fi, and a high-tech sound system. Oak Park-based fabrication shop Detroit Custom Coach brought the design to life.
The food truck will be at MotorCity Street Beats, a free concert at the Shell gas station in Royal Oak, located between 13 Mile and 14 Mile roads (31786 Woodward). There will be a sneak peak at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the location.
Other regular options will include chicken and biscuits, a burger, and bumpy cake with prices ranging from $4 to $8. The truck will also be available to rent for private events.
