The 2016 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, to be held June 3-5, will feature performances by The Romantics and the R&B and pop group, Morris Day and the Time. Other weekend activities include Monster Truck rides and driver autograph sessions.
“We know our fans will love Morris Day and the Time as they will liven up the party on Sunday afternoon at the Grand Prix,” says Bud Denker, chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. “The MotorCity Casino Hotel stage (on Belle Isle) will be the place to be and experience some great music before the final race of a terrific weekend in the Motor City.”
Denker says Morris Day and the Time, known for songs such as “Jungle Love and The Bird,” will give a free performance prior to the final Dual in Detroit, the only IndyCar Series doubleheader race weekend. The Dual in Detroit will feature two full-points races on the nearly 2.4-mile Belle Isle street circuit.
The Romantics, a punk rock band from Detroit, will perform on June 4.
Other fan activities include driver autograph sessions, sports demonstrations, free monster truck rides, and Detroit sports stars appearances throughout the weekend.
