Automotive manufacturer Stellantis, which has its North American headquarters in Auburn Hills, announced the release of a limited-production vehicle package in North America: the Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 special edition vehicle.
Only 250 units of the special edition vehicle package will be assembled in North America, with 210 coming to the U.S. and 40 to Canada. They will be available in four colors: silver, white, red, and blue in select dealerships starting this summer — with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $8,500 for the special edition package.
The package is exclusive to the 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn/Lone Star Crew Cab 4×4, meaning customers must buy or already own that model vehicle and then purchase this Mopar-made additional package.
The special edition adds a variety of Mopar accessories to the Ram 1500, including off-road style running boards, spray-in bedliner, adjustable tie downs, tow hooks, a one-piece tonneau cover, and all-weather floor mats. Some items, including the black exterior decals, gloss-black grille surround, and exhaust tips, are only available in the package and cannot be purchased separately.
An exclusive owner kit packaged in a custom box is also included, featuring a personalized metal certificate of authenticity with serialized vehicle-build number and a special rendering of the truck by the Mopar design team.
“The Mopar ’21 Ram 1500 is a head-turning, factory-backed rig straight from our custom shop,” says Mark Bosanac, North America vice president of the Mopar service, parts and customer care team. “Across the entire Ram lineup, Mopar offers more than 600 quality-tested, factory-backed parts and accessories.”
The 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn/Lone Star Crew Cab 4×4 comes with 20-inch black wheels riding on 275/55R20 all-season tires and a Mopar bed step. Black grille badges, a body-color bumper, door handles, fender flares, and black-painted mirrors are all hallmarks of the truck.
The truck has a 12,750-pound towing capability and 2,300 pounds of payload.
