K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel has announced that it will open its newest location this fall in Troy, at 2966 Industrial Row Drive.

The national pet care brand is known for its cage-free dog boarding, five-star guest service, and enriching daycare services.

The 10,500-square-foot resort, which also will offer more than 2,000 square feet of outdoor play areas, can accommodate 100-plus dogs for daily boarding and daycare.

K9 Resorts Troy will be the 52nd location for the brand and its second in Michigan, with the other location in Grand Rapids. The company was founded in New Jersey in 2005 by brothers Jason and Steven Parker. Troy also marks the 19th K9 Resorts location operated by Luxury Pet Hotel Investments in Puerto Rico.

LPHI says it is investing more than $3 million to build the K9 Resorts Troy location, with construction managed through 18 local subcontractors. Once fully staffed, the resort will employ approximately 23 people, including management.

Earlier this year, Michigan native Dionne Zick-Reep was tapped as general manager of the Troy K9 Resorts location. A University of Michigan graduate, Zick-Reep pairs executive leadership in pet boarding with decades of hands-on experience in dog breeding, exhibiting, training, and advocacy. Her recent experience includes operating two premier pet resorts in the Charlotte, N.C. area.

As an exhibitor, her dogs have won ribbons at the national level at the Westminster Kennel Club and AKC National Championships.

“The key to a well-run resort is about more than beautiful accommodations. It’s about genuine hospitality, earning trust that builds lasting relationships with pet owners, and providing knowledgeable, compassionate care that gives families complete confidence while they are away,” says Zick-Reep. “Opening a K9 Resorts location in Michigan is deeply personal for me, and I can’t wait to give my home state’s pet parents the same top-notch service levels I would expect for my own dogs.”

K9 Resorts Troy will offer year-round boarding, small and large dog group daycare, and individualized daycare options. The resort will feature signature elements like hospital-grade ventilation systems, antimicrobial flooring, all-inclusive meals, and spacious suites.

The new location is offering pre-opening specials, including 25 percent off five- or 10-day boarding packages and 50 percent bonus daycare days.

The resort has also introduced a limited-time Founders Pack membership, which features unlimited daycare and boarding for one monthly rate — starting at $49 for the first month and then $299 per month for months two through 12. This membership will not be offered again once the summer pre-sale period ends.
