InvestWise Financial, a full-service wealth management firm in Birmingham, has announced plans to construct a new, owner-occupied office building at 36977 Woodward Avenue, redeveloping a long-vacant land parcel at the southwest corner of Woodward Avenue and Quarton Road.
The three-story, approximately 9,300-square-foot building, expected to open in summer 2027, will serve as the firm’s permanent headquarters.
The project represents an $8 million investment into the Birmingham community, encompassing land acquisition, environmental remediation, and construction.
The site has remained largely untouched for more than 40 years, as previous developers were challenged by the cost and complexity of environmental cleanup. InvestWise Financial is the first to move forward with full remediation, restoring the land and bringing a key gateway into the city.
“We saw an opportunity to do something meaningful with a highly visible piece of land that has been overlooked for decades,” says Dean Thurman, co-founder and senior partner of InvestWise Financial. “Just as we guide our clients on making long-term investments into their futures, we’re making that same kind of commitment in Birmingham.”
Designed by Jeff Klatt of Krieger Klatt Architects and constructed by Schaefer Construction Inc., the building will feature a glass conservatory, a 1,200-square-foot rooftop terrace overlooking Woodward Avenue, and space for client and community events.
Project partners include Tracey Brinkman of Oxford Bank, who assisted with financing, and Mike Valant of Newmark, who served as broker for the land acquisition.
